Undercover Operation (4)

We are in total shock. One month after my husband lands his dream job, we are faced with a cancer diagnosis. The insane thing about becoming a CEO of a publicly traded company is you are suddenly thrust into the spot light. You receive media training on what to say and how to say it. Suddenly you go from being a business professional, to being the face of the company. It is a lot to take in. You start to see your face, things you have done, and said, in the paper. People start to talk about you and want to connect with you. This can all be overwhelming. But what do you do when this all happens at the same time, you receive devastating news that you might die???

Some might have just stepped down or quit but becoming CEO has been a life long dream. We worked so hard to achieve this. Should we walk away or hope that the cancer can be cured? We chose hope. We decided to keep the cancer diagnosis a secret. Everyone is working from home during COVID making it easier to keep. So in the summer when everyone is working from home and isolating themselves from family and friends, I drop my husband off for his secret liver resection surgery to remove a tumor on his liver.
