Our lives look amazing from the outside. My husband is having tremendous success as CEO. The share price is booming and he is on the news wearing his wig and no one is the wiser. My kids play multiple sports and everyone now knows what my husband does for a living. It took awhile for everyone to figure it out but once you are on the news a few times the gossip mill does the rest.
People start to see us and our kids differently. We would go to our kids matches and just wave hello to people and they would just wave back. Now people stare at us or are super eager to talk to us. My kids come home and ask how much their dad makes bc the kids at practice told them that he makes this much.
It is tough because we are carrying around this huge secret. My husband started this huge landscaping project to help make the yard maintenance free. You know, in case he dies, and a neighbor wrote us a super aggressive letter about how a CEO should know better than create so much noise on the street. Sometimes I just want to yell he is dying you idiot.
