After this summers pause it was time for a new scan and to begin treatment again. Two weeks after the scan the doctor informs us that there is now a baseball size tumor on my husbands liver!!!!
The doctors want to try 5FU again. I pushed back and demanded we try Gem/cis again even though it affected my husbands blood values badly. The cancer disappeared from all the scans last time we were on Gem/cis. The doctor agreed we could try it again but with 70 percent dose.
I do not really understand why the doctor would recommend the chemotherapy we used last time when the first treatment worked better. I also asked about bio markers and if they could test for the ones I found on Cholangiocarinoma.org.
This website is a godsend. There is so much information and support.
