So my husband has been on gem/cis for two months now and it is wiping him out. He has not been able to complete a round of treatment because his white blood count gets terribly low. After the first missed treatment, the doctors lowered the dosage to 50 percent. He received one more treatment and his white blood cells did fine, but now his liver enzymes are off. They asked if he had yellow eyes. He doesn’t but they want to meet with us before he gets his next treatment.
I am afraid that they are going to discontinue his treatment. We haven’t met with the doctors yet. Our meeting is scheduled for next week. I pray that his blood values will be fine and that he can continue gem/cis. Maybe they found an important Biomarker, they can give him a more specialized treatment?
